The editorial firewall

Commercial relationships shape commercial placement. Editorial integrity is preserved through transparent disclosure, equal editorial bar across organic and sponsored content, and a structural separation between revenue and selection.

What sponsors can do: purchase placement, submit products for review, receive engagement reporting on placements, submit trend candidates for editorial evaluation.

What sponsors cannot do: influence which trends are selected (organic trends are editorial-only), influence the editorial brief beyond their sponsored placement, receive content veto on approved sponsored content, lower the editorial threshold for sponsored trend candidates.

Every sponsored placement is explicitly labeled. Every sponsored trend includes a reader-facing disclosure card showing the editorial inputs that supported the selection. The full rule is codified internally and reviewed at every issue retrospective.
