A monthly trend report for the promo industry
What's hot in culture, decoded for merch.
Every month we translate TikTok, Instagram, fashion week, and fast-marketplace signals into the exact blanks, decoration techniques, and pitch concepts your clients are about to ask for. Plus an AI tool that turns it all into a polished, on-brand pitch sheet in under a minute.
The Drop · Issue 03 · April 2026
A trend brief that reads like an operator wrote it. Because one did.
Eighteen trends a month, each translated into the specific blanks and decoration techniques your suppliers actually carry. No fluff, no thought-leadership word salad. Just what's about to be hot, and what to put it on.
Apparel · Decoration
Mob Wife Energy
Maximalist glam returning hard. Faux fur, leopard, oversized gold hardware, oxblood velvet. A reaction to three years of quiet luxury beige.
Drinkware · Lifestyle
Dopamine Drinkware
Bright, saturated, slightly absurd. A rejection of muted colorways. Best for beverage launches, fitness brands, and any client trying to stand out at trade shows.
Headwear · Soft Goods
Coastal Grandmother
Linen, cream, weathered straw, hand-script monograms. The aesthetic that built Nantucket gift shops, now mainstream. Perfect for hotel, wellness, and luxury hospitality clients.
Apparel · Tech
Y2K Office Core
Rectangle sunglasses, low-rise everything, metallic tech accessories, pleated skirts. Returning at scale via Gen Z TikTok. Strong for tech, consumer brand, and event swag.
Decoration · Technique
Heavy Tonal Embroidery
Logo same color as garment, oversized scale, dimensional puff. Replacing flat embroidery for premium positioning. Average upcharge: 18%.
Apparel · Soft Goods
Quiet Tech Uniform
Heavy fleece in greige, charcoal, espresso. Tonal embroidery only. Replacing the mid-2010s tech-bro hoodie. Strong for SaaS launches and AI/infra companies.

Aurelia Hotels — Spring Soirée

Concept: "Linen & Lantern Light"
Aurelia's brand sits in the coastal-grandmother / quiet-hospitality space. Their April launch event leans into garden, evening, soft warmth. We've selected four blanks in tonal cream + sage that read as gift, not swag — and a tonal embroidery treatment that disappears into the fabric until you're up close.

Built for distributors. By distributors.
"There's a real disconnect between what's happening in culture and what's getting pitched to corporate buyers. The distributors who close that gap will own the next decade of this industry."

FAQ
Things distributors ask before signing up.
Where do the trends come from?
TikTok Creative Center, Pinterest Predicts, Google Trends, Temu/SHEIN best-sellers, fashion week recaps, and a curated set of cultural newsletters. Then we filter for what's actually applicable to promo categories. Editorial judgment is the moat — we say no to trends that look hot but won't decorate well.
Are the SKUs from real suppliers?
Yes. We only recommend products you can actually source from Alphabroder, SanMar, S&S, Hit Promo, Bag Makers, Polyconcept, etc. Each recommendation includes the supplier name and style number so you can quote without hunting.
Will my clients know I used a tool?
No. Studio and above output is fully white-labeled with your branding, domain, and contact info. The InsightMerch brand never appears on customer-facing materials.
How is this different from just using ChatGPT?
ChatGPT doesn't know what's actually in stock at SanMar this week, what's trending in promo specifically, or how a tonal puff embroider treatment renders on heavyweight fleece. InsightMerch is built around a curated, monthly-refreshed library of products + trends + decoration techniques specific to our industry.
What if I don't want to pay yet?
Start with the free Drop. Most distributors get value from the headlines alone for the first month or two. Upgrade when you start sending pitches you generated and seeing them close.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Monthly billing, cancel any time, no exit fees. Annual prepay saves 17% but is also refundable pro-rata for the first 30 days.
